I’ve been using 1&1 to host my websites for about 10 years and use it now to host this website. 1&1 is the only web host that I’ve ever used and I have yet to encounter any difficulty. Only once in that time frame have I ever seen downtime and it was for about 20 minutes. Phone support has always been quick and answered my questions completely.
Domain Name Registration
1&1 does have domain name registration. I liked this because it was easy to keep everything under one account, and the price was good. I didn’t like that you could only register the domain for one year at a time. I have also heard stories about customers having difficulty canceling the auto renew function on their domain names, so I would recommend using a true domain registration company like GoDaddy and not 1&1.
