Last night I attended the first SmugMug meetup for the Sacramento area. Super cool. Led by Monica Toohey-Krause of Studio KYK lifestyle photography, we planned an assault of learning and growth for local photography businesses. There were over 30 photographers, most SmugMug users at the first meeting. I made some great new friends and picked up a new profile photo from Sacramento wedding photographer, Caroline Winata.
I’ll be speaking for 1-2 hours at the August 11th meeting about how search engines can explode a brand new or veteran business, how search engines work, and the primary website and blog features to focus on to rise up in Google. Plenty of opportunity for Q&A as well. I look forward to helping your online businesses grow.

Meet and greet at 5pm and I’ll begin at 6. Free pizza. Yum.

Testimonials
It was a great turnout with about 40 people in attendance! Here’s what some had to say:
Heather Prettyman, Sacramento Wedding & Portrait Photographer
“Zach is great. I’m thoroughly impressed with his SEO knowledge. He explains SEO in an as easy to understand way as possible and gives analogies that make sense to photographers. He also has an easy-to-be-around, relaxed personality that I think most photographers will appreciate.
During his guest presentation, I learned a LOT of little things that I’m doing wrong and see the value, now more than ever, in booking a coaching session with him. If search engines aren’t pulling me up in the first couple pages, chances are I won’t be found. I’m excited for him to dig deep into my site and find ways for improving my searchability.
This SEO stuff is actually a “Super Exciting Opportunity” to build more business! Thanks Zach!”
Coree Keenan, Candid Photographer in Sacramento
“I’m a hobbyist photographer whose business is based entirely on referrals. I’m ready to branch out yet I was stuck on how to get myself out there. That internet is a big place and I am only one little photographer. How do I stick out? Zach has given me so many ideas on how to make myself searchable…analytics, links, and blogs,…oh my! I’m telling ya I knew nothing and Zach has given me goals and a focus. I know now where to begin and I feel confident that following Zach’s advice will get me in your search. Thank you Zach for time well spent!”
